Fines for illegal fireworks could reach $1,000 in Douglas County

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KDVR) – A Highlands Ranch fireworks show planned for July 4 has been canceled due to a change in fire restrictions in Douglas County.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said fire restrictions have been raised to Stage 2, with fines for violating the restrictions potentially significant, reaching up to $1,000.
