DENVER (KDVR) – An extended closure on Highway 36 westbound lanes near Pecos Street is now over after an early morning hit-and-run caused a significant fuel leak.

The Colorado State Patrol reported the crash just after 7 a.m. on Saturday involving a semi-truck hauling a trailer on westbound Highway 36 just west of Pecos Street.
Initial reports indicate that a Dodge Challenger traveling in the HOV lane crossed a pair of solid white lines, cutting off a Ford F150 and the semi. The Ford lost control and swerved into the semi’s left fuel tank and rotated.
The F150 bed went under the left side of the semi-trailer and struck the rear left side tires; however, the driver was able to free themself and fled the scene. The driver of the Challenger didn’t stop and also fled the scene…
