Thornton Teen Aaliyah Sanchez Found Safe in Second Alert of 2026

A 14-year-old girl who had been missing from the Denver area for roughly three weeks has been found safe, bringing a statewide alert to a close. Aaliyah Sanchez was last seen on July 27 at 1:30 p.m. in the 100 block of East 41st Avenue in Denver, and law enforcement had expressed concern for her safety while the search continued.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced Monday that the Endangered Missing Alert issued for Sanchez had been canceled after she was safely located. In a post on social media, CBI wrote simply that Sanchez had been found and thanked the public for its help. The agency, based in Denver, had requested assistance from the public in locating her and had directed tips to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, which requested the alert.

Sanchez, who is Hispanic and stands 5 feet 3 inches tall at about 120 pounds, was last seen wearing a black shirt with freshly dyed red hair, according to the alert. She had also been spotted near 47th Avenue and Leaf Court in Denver on July 30, a few days after she first went missing.

A Second Alert for the Same Teen in Just Three Months

This was not the first time Sanchez had gone missing in 2026. According to brightonlocal.org, an earlier Endangered Missing Alert was issued for her on May 21, after she disappeared from the 10700 block of Albion Street in Thornton — meaning the August case marked the second statewide alert for Sanchez within three months.
