DENVER (KDVR) — The West Metro firefighter who was critically injured after falling during a training exercise on July 29 is continuing his recovery journey with a smile on his face.
West Metro Fire Rescue posted images of firefighter/paramedic Jarrod Leonard on Thursday afternoon, showing him in a neck brace but still smiling as he, alongside his wife, takes the next steps in his recovery.

Leonard was moved on Thursday from a transitional care facility to a Denver-area neurological rehab center, where he will undergo specialized therapy and care.
“Jarrod still has a long road ahead, but we’re glad to share that he has reached this next step,” the department said. “We continue to be grateful for the support and well wishes for Jarrod and his family from our community and from our fire and law enforcement partners.”
