Denver home sales drop to lowest September level since 2008

Denver-area home sales fell 21.39% from a year earlier in September, reaching the lowest total for the month in records dating to 2008, according to the Denver Metro Association of Realtors.

The association’s report, released Oct. 3, showed 2,849 closed sales, down 11.71% from August. Pending sales fell 6.07% month over month to 2,908. Through September, closings trailed the same period in 2025 by 4.96%.

Active listings totaled 13,567 at the end of September, representing 4.76 months of inventory. Condominiums and townhomes had 7.21 months of inventory, while their median closing price declined 6.28% year over year to $365,500…
