LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) — A Lakewood man was shocked and disgusted by a horrifying sight: rodents finding their way into his apartment home.
“We heard scratching, bumping under the cabinet,” Edward Medina said.
He set up a video camera in his unit at the Concordia Apartments after noticing tiny footprints in the carpet. Then he discovered the culprit.
“A full-grown, New York-looking rat,” he told FOX31.

It turns out the rat had company: a little gang of mice eating through food containers and leaving a mess on the kitchen floor.
“It was just mindblowing to both of us,” Medina said of himself and his partner.
The rat even helped himself to a large bag of dog food, causing great concern.
“I have an emotional support dog. I didn’t want him to get sick,” Medina said.

Many homes and complexes along the Front Range see increases in rodents during certain times of the year. Medina told the Problem Solvers the complex immediately sent in exterminators to set traps and offered to provide another unit for Medina and his partner.
