Pinpoint Weather Alert Day for Saturday rain, mountain snow

DENVER (KDVR) — Rain and cooler temperatures have arrived in Denver’s weather forecast. A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Saturday as heavy, wet snow will fall in the mountains, foothills and potentially the south metro, leading to difficult travel.

Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories will be in effect Friday evening through Sunday morning, and other parts of the metro will also see rain.

Weather tonight: Rain, mountain snow

Friday night, rain showers will become more widespread in the metro. Rain will mix and then transition to snow in higher elevations as lows drop below freezing.

Low temperatures in Denver will only fall to the 40s, which is 5 degrees warmer than normal and too warm for snow.
