ENGLEWOOD — Sarasota County will host a free community cleanup in Englewood from 8 a.m. to noon May 18.
Dumpsters for residential customers will be available for people who want to clean out their garages, attics and yards, and get rid of their discarded household items, appliances, junk and tree trimmings.
The main collection site will be at Buchan Airport, 1390 Old Englewood Road.
A second locations site will be at the north end of North Broadway Road and Englewood Heights Road, behind the Englewood Elks Lodge (access only from North Broadway Road).
Hazardous waste, such as paint, oil, gas, electronics, appliances and computers, will be accepted at the main site only. Tires 25 by 16 or smaller will be accepted at the main site only, with a limit of four tires per household.
Staff from Neighborhood Services will be present to share information and resources available through Sarasota County neighborhood programs.
Hazardous materials may also be taken to the Sarasota County Chemical Collection Center, 8750 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
