Police: 3 shot in Aurora near Smoky Hill and Quincy

DENVER (KDVR) — Police in Aurora said two women and a man were shot and wounded on Thursday night.

It happened in the area of Smoky Hill Road and East Quincy Avenue, according to a 10:09 p.m. post from the Aurora Police Department . One person had been detained.

Police said one of the wounded women had life-threatening injuries, while the man had serious injuries. All three were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Smoky Hill Road was closed in both directions between Quincy and Evanston Street, where officers were in the area and nearby neighborhoods to investigate.

Police said the circumstances leading to the shooting were not immediately known. The department’s Major Crimes Unit was investigation.
