Memories of Country Dinner Playhouse in Denver, nicknamed “The Barn”

Beginning in 1970, the Country Dinner Playhouse ran nearly 200 shows like musicals and comedy-mysteries until its closure in 2007. The Barn was located in Greenwood Village, and entertained over 5 million guests during its run. This prime dinner theater spot sat 470 guests and was a favorite of many, with entertainment all around, including a performing troupe that worked as the wait staff.

Bill McHale, was the director for productions for 30 years, ushering in performers that eventually reached Broadway and nationwide TV shows. He retired in 2000 after directing 142 productions. Eventually the theater closed in 2007 due to bankruptcy.
