This Colorado community is in the top 1% of small cities in the US

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Major cities can be great homes for those who enjoy the crowds, nightlife and the hustle and bustle. However, some people crave a different lifestyle.

According to WalletHub , 31% of Americans said they would prefer to live in the suburbs over the city. Therefore, the financial services company wanted to find the best small cities in the U.S. and compared more than 1,300 places with populations between 25,000 and 100,000.

In order to find the best small cities, WalletHub looked at 45 metrics including, affordability, economic health, education and health, quality of life and safety, just to name a few.

According to the study, one Colorado spot made the top 15 best small cities in the U.S.

No. 15: Castle Rock

Castle Rock was named the best small city in Colorado and the 15th best in the U.S.

According to the way WalletHub outlined its findings, Castle Rock is in the 99th percentile, meaning it represents the top 1% of small cities in the country. WalletHub then gave every city a total score, and Castle Rock received a 68.45, placing it 15th.
