DENVER ( KDVR ) — A man wanted by the Denver FBI office in the deadly shooting of a minor on a southwestern Colorado reservation was arrested on Christmas Eve.
23-year-old Jeremiah Hight, a member of the Ute Mountain Tribe, was arrested just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday on top of a mesa west of Oljato, Utah , by the Navajo Police Department K-9 Unit and the Bureau of Indian Affairs Division of Drug Enforcement.

The Denver FBI office was offering a $10,000 reward for information that led to Hight’s arrest and conviction. He was wanted for the murder of a minor on the Ute Mountain Reservation in Towaoc that occurred earlier in December. Towaoc is the capital of the Ute Mountain Reservation and is located in the southwest corner of Colorado, near Mesa Verde National Park.
Law enforcement began looking for Hight near Oljato on Saturday, noting that Hight has ties to Monument Valley, Utah. The area is about 2 and a half hours from Towaoc. On Tuesday, Hight was taken into federal custody.
