AURORA, Colo. — A jury found an Aurora Police officer named in a civil lawsuit by a man alleging excessive force during a May 2021 arrest liable for $400,000 in damages.
Preston Nunn filed the lawsuit against Aurora Police officers Gabriel Nestor and Cody Goetz in May 2023 over a traffic stop two years earlier. The jury trial in Adams County started on Monday. Closing arguments were on Friday.
The six-person jury found Nestor deprived Nunn of his right to be free from excessive force by pointing his duty weapon at Nunn, and that Nestor was responsible for Nunn’s claimed damages…
