77 dogs seized from Colorado property after citizen report prompted concern

A large law enforcement animal rescue operation resulted in more than 80 animals being seized from a property in Colorado this week.

According to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed a court-ordered search warrant at a local commercial kennel on February 24. The kennel had been operating in Custer County under a ‘special use permit’ and after a citizen complaint was received on February 13, a subsequent investigation established enough probable cause for the warrant.

A total of 24 personnel responded on Monday for the sake of rescue and additional investigation, seizing a total of 86 animals and transporting them to care facilities found around the region…
