Goodland, KS – A powerful winter storm is set to impact northeast Colorado, northwest Kansas, and southwest Nebraska beginning Monday evening, bringing blizzard conditions and up to 6 inches of snow.
According to the National Weather Service in Goodland, KS, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Monday evening through Tuesday evening. The storm is expected to bring heavy, wet snow with accumulations ranging from 1 to 6 inches. Strong northerly winds, gusting up to 70 mph, could lead to whiteout conditions, making travel extremely dangerous.
The affected areas include Yuma, Kit Carson, and Cheyenne counties in Colorado; Cheyenne, Rawlins, Sherman, Thomas, Wallace, and Logan counties in Kansas; and Dundy and Hitchcock counties in Nebraska.
