Ever had a bear in your car? A skunk in the woodpile? A raccoon in the basement? If the answer is yes, you’ve probably called Mark Caddy for help. Caddy, the Norwood district wildlife manager for Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), officially turned off his radio and turned in his phone. He retired in February after 25 years with CPW in the Norwood-Telluride region.
Caddy began his CPW career in 1986 and spent nearly 40 years working to preserve habitat and manage the relationships that benefit wild animals in Colorado. He and his family moved to Norwood in 1999 from Rangely and since then, Caddy has covered the area from Redvale to Mountain Village and the west side of Telluride as the district wildlife manager.
For Caddy, the memories that stand out are the ones with horses…
