Body found by Thornton police officers responding to grass fire

DENVER (KDVR) — Thornton police said that officers recovered an adult’s body on Sunday night in the same area as a brush fire.

The fire was reported in the 8200 block of North Valley Highway, or Interstate 25. On Sunday, the Thornton Police Department said it was conducting an outdoor death investigation in the area.

Evacuations lifted, wildfire north of Dry Creek Reservoir 100% contained

Investigators were working to learn the circumstances that led to the person’s death and said additional updates would be provided if the circumstances were found to be criminal. The agency did not provide any information on how old the person could be or other identifying information.
