According to the Commerce City Police Department, the “shelter in place” order has been lifted following the clearance of a residence that was the scene of a search warrant executed by local authorities and their SWAT team.
The original alert had urged people to avoid the area around the 9500 block of 112th Place amidst a heavy police presence. The operation, which involved serving a search warrant, led to one subject being taken into custody. The police had indicated there might be another individual refusing to comply with orders inside the residence. Residents were told by police, “You may see and hear some flash bangs,” as officers worked to resolve the situation.
