2 students face charges after ‘suspicious device’ found on Highlands Ranch High School locker: Sheriff’s office

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Two students are facing charges after the sheriff’s office said a “suspicious device” was attached to the outside of a locker at Highlands Ranch High School on Thursday.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were notified about the device just before noon. Students and staff in the immediate area evacuated to Cresthill Middle School while the rest of the school was placed on hold.

During a hold, hallways are cleared and students stay in classrooms until the situation is resolved, and class continues as usual.
