DENVER (KDVR) — On Tuesday, the Colorado Attorney General’s Office announced that a settlement had been reached with a real estate company called HomeOptions that released dozens of homeowners who had contracted with the company.
According to the AG’s office, HomeOptions would promise a cash payment, usually between $900 to $1,100, to allow the real estate company exclusive rights to sell the house in the future.

HomeOptions would allegedly use an agreement with provisions that all but guaranteed the company would get thousands of dollars from the homeowner.
The funds would come from commissions on the sale of the home, or fees assessed for terminating the contract with HomeOption, according to the AG’s office, which said “these terms were even binding on the homeowner’s heirs.”…
