Colorado city could get 16 inches of snow through Sunday morning

The weekend forecast continues to point to quite a bit of snow in Colorado, likely to bring widespread impacts for travelers around the state with both I-70 and I-25 likely to see impacts.

On April 3, the National Weather Service released their snowfall predictions through Sunday morning, and it’s showing that big totals can be expected in the mountains, as well as in some heavily-populated areas over upcoming days.

In the ‘expected’ snowfall scenario – which is most likely with an 80 percent chance of coming to fruition – many northern, central, and southern peaks get totals in the range of eight to 18 inches through Sunday morning, with about a foot of snow expected on the I-70 corridor and up to eight inches along I-25 in the area of Castle Rock.
