Authorities in Douglas County, Colorado, showcased efficient collaboration and coordination, putting an end to a series of crimes that included a brazen carjacking, and now two suspects are in custody. On April 2nd, in response to a stolen vehicle report linked to a carjacking in Arvada, units from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), including Swings A, K-9, and Traffic, joined forces with the Colorado State Patrol. According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, their joint efforts led to a decisive end of the pursuit when the suspect vehicle was stopped using both stop sticks and a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) technique on I-25.
The chase involved a CSP aircraft spotting the vehicle before ground units took over, and the suspects’ vehicle was effectively neutralized. Following the intervention, the suspects attempted to flee on foot, but their efforts were short-lived, thanks to the swift actions of the DCSO deputies. The two individuals found themselves under arrest shortly thereafter with significant charges hanging over their heads, including auto theft, robbery, burglary, and Department of Corrections violations.
