(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Friday, April 5, Colorado Task Force 1 left for Memphis as the forecast shows potential for more severe weather, flooding, and tornadoes for Tennessee.
The team is traveling with 45 members from 15 different Colorado Fire agencies, including two search dogs and their handlers. During the 15-hour drive from Denver, the team expected to stop for a few hours to sleep, and then continue to Memphis on Saturday morning.
According to Task Force 1, the team could be involved in swift-water rescue and wide-area search, depending on the needs. If they work in an area with tornado damage, they may work structure collapse. According to the task force, the team is prepared for any task.
