Location unknown: 18th District Attorney, ICE spar over undocumented suspect

DENVER (KDVR) — The 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office says a robbery and kidnapping suspect has been taken into federal immigration custody and the agency did not produce the defendant for his court appearances.

The prosecutor’s office said that Yerbis Manuel Garcia-Quintero, 46, was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday afternoon for preliminary hearings in two felony cases.

Garcia-Quintero is facing one case with charges of second-degree kidnapping, obstruction of telephone service and criminal mischief. A judge set his bond in the case at $100,000 and the defendant posted a surety bond to make bail on Feb. 1.

He is also facing charges of aggravated robbery, witness/victim intimidation, second-degree assault, extortion, felony menacing, false imprisonment and criminal possession of an identification document, as well as a sentence enhancement charge of violent crime.
