Remembering the victims | Sunday marks 26 years since the Columbine shooting

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Sunday marks 26 years since the shocking tragedy of the Columbine High School shooting, the worst the nation had seen at the time.

Twelve students and a teacher were killed when two gunmen attacked the Jefferson County school on April 20, 1999.

The youngest killed in the attack was Steven Curnow, 14. The oldest was teacher Dave Sanders, 47, who shepherded students out of the cafeteria to safety and was shot as he tried to get students upstairs into classrooms…
