Thousands of drivers have been urged to avoid using their cars in certain areas across three states due to the risk of sparking wildfires.

The red flag warning was issued for a string of towns and counties across Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska by the National Weather Service (NWS), which warned of “critical fire weather conditions” on Monday.
