ICE fines Denver cleaning businesses for unauthorized workers

DENVER — At least two Denver cleaning companies could face hefty fines from the federal government for employing people unauthorized to work in the U.S.

Earlier this week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a news release announcing $8 million in fines for three businesses. 9NEWS Investigates found two of the businesses facing the steepest fines appear to be connected.

ICE accused CCS Denver, Inc. of knowingly hiring and employing 87 unauthorized workers and issued a notice of intent to fine the company more than $6 million. PBC Commercial Cleaning Systems, Inc. was issued a notice for more than $1.5 million in fines for employing 12 unauthorized workers…
