DENVER (KDVR) — A new two-show attendance record was set for Empower Field at Mile High after Metallica wrapped up the North America leg of their M72 World Tour with two shows in Denver.
Metallica blood drive reportedly biggest in history of Denver Red Cross
Over 152,000 fans attended the two sold-out shows on Friday, June 27 and Sunday, June 29, setting a new two-show attendance record for Empower Field, according to a press release from KF Publicity.
The band performed over a dozen songs after openers Limp Bizkit and Ice Nine Kills on Friday, and Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies on Sunday.
Attendance is not the only record Denver’s metalheads smashed in the name of Metallica.
The band’s foundation, All Within My Hands, held a blood drive last week with the Denver Red Cross, setting a new record with 240 units of lifesaving blood collected.
