Medina Alert issued in deadly July 5 hit-and-run crash on I-25 involving pedestrian

DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Police Department issued a Medina Alert for a deadly hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian dead on southbound Interstate 25 in Denver.

The crash occurred at about 7 a.m. on July 5 between West 6th Avenue and West Alameda Avenue on I-25. A pedestrian was on the right shoulder of the southbound lanes of I-25 changing a flat tire when they were struck by a black Toyota 4Runner, according to police.

What is a Medina Alert and when is it issued?

The suspect vehicle is now described as a black, 2016 Toyota 4Runner with Colorado license plates that read ARFH65. The vehicle has damage on the passenger doors and is missing the front passenger panel.

The vehicle also has a “CU” sticker on the back window, according to the Denver Police Department.
