Mother speaks after school closes 2 weeks before starting day

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) — This week, dozens of families have to find new schools for their children after Colorado Skies Academy announced it was closing due to financial concerns, just two weeks before the start of school.

CSA was an aerospace-focused charter school in Englewood offering STEM education for middle schoolers, but on Friday, families found out the school was closing effective immediately.

“I was stunned,” she said. “My son had been in school there for a year. He attended sixth grade, and it was really great for him because it was a project-based learning school, and he has level one autism and ADHD, and he does well when it’s hands-on — on really focused learning,” Contois said…
