2 more Walgreens to close in Denver metro area

DENVER — Walgreens confirmed on Monday that they will close two more locations next month in Denver.

The closure comes after the company announced in October a plan to close around 1,200 mostly underperforming U.S. locations over the next three years. Walgreens closed 70 stores in its fiscal first quarter and plans to shutter around 500 this year.

Walgreens, like its competitors, has been struggling for years with tight reimbursement for the prescriptions it sells as well as other challenges like rising costs to operate its stores…
