Court sentences Trinidad murder accessory to 13 years in unrelated case

TRINIDAD — A northern Colorado court sentenced a Trinidad man to 13 years prison following a high-speed chase in Castle Rock.

Roy Allen Elliot-Casaus III, age 33, plead guilty to assault on a peace officer, aggravated motor vehicle theft and vehicular eluding, according to a press release from the Colorado 23rd District Attorney’s Office, which prosecuted the case.

According to prosecutors, Elliot-Casaus III led police on a high-speed chase at the Castle Rock Outlets before crashing his stolen vehicle into several police cars. It ended following a brief foot chase, after a police officer rammed his patrol vehicle head on into the stolen vehicle driven by Elliot-Casaus III…
