DENVER (KDVR) — Public works crews in the city of Littleton installed a new protected bike lane on Church Avenue between Santa Fe Drive and Prince Street earlier this week.
The city said Saturday that the new protected bike lane is one of several installed as part of “Safer Streets Littleton,” which the city website said is an “ambitious effort” by the city to improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety.

The effort aims to accomplish its goal “through an accelerated pace of infrastructure upgrades, increased traffic enforcement, and public education.”
“While the city has a strong tradition of bicycle and pedestrian safety infrastructure projects, city officials agree urgency is needed to protect those who travel on foot or by bike,” the city said on its website.
The city provided a link to a survey, where residents can share thoughts on the new protected bike lane. A visual map of the “Quick Build & Pilot Projects” planned by the city for this year can also be found online…
