Stray bullet hits Highlands Ranch school after accidental discharge

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — A Highlands Ranch middle school was put on secure perimeter Wednesday after a resident who lives nearby accidentally fired a bullet that hit an exterior door of the school building, authorities said.

No one was injured, said the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Douglas County Schools.
