Lockdown, secure status lifted at Sheridan schools after no weapon found

DENVER (KDVR) — Schools in Sheridan were all on lockdown or secure status on Friday afternoon after a Safe2Tell report of a weapon at Sheridan High School.

In a note on Sheridan High School’s website, it said that Sheridan High School and SOAR were in lockdown as law enforcement investigates a “safety concern,” and all other Sheridan schools were on secure status “out of an abundance of caution.” The lockdown and secure status were lifted before 1 p.m.

The Sheridan Police Department said there was a Safe2Tell report, where students can anonymously report concerns, about a weapon at the school. The department said the Arapahoe County Sheriff and Sheridan police were at Sheridan High School with K9s investigating the area.

Police confirmed with FOX31 that nothing was found, and the students will continue with school for the rest of the day…
