DENVER (KDVR) — Hundreds of volunteers spread out across Denver on Saturday to help older adults with their fall yardwork as part of an annual event organized by the nonprofit A Little Help.
The organization brought together a record 450 volunteers for its Service Saturday event, sending teams across the metro area to rake leaves, wash windows and tackle other seasonal chores for older adults who aren’t able to do the work themselves.
For Denver resident Susie Schultz, the volunteer support means more than a clean yard. Schultz, who is in her 90s and has been losing her eyesight, said she’s not sure how she would get the work done without help.
