WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The community is rallying behind two central Kansas educators badly hurt in an accident.
Kim and Dan Heath were injured in a crash recently while in Denver, where their vehicle was rear-ended, the Great Bend school district confirms. Their son was with them, and he too was hurt.
Kim and their son’s condition have improved, but Dan remains hospitalized. Kim and Dan had taught at Great Bend High School for many years. Dan recently retired. Kim is currently the Great Bend High School speech, debate and forensics coach. She received the Secondary Educator of the Year Award from the Kansas Speech Communication Association this year.
A GoFundMe has raised more than $7,000 for the family while they’re navigating life after this accident…
