As a kid growing up in Colorado in the 1990s, I have fond memories of visiting various Toys ‘R’ Us stores across the state. My family and I had a blast just perusing the aisles at stores in Boulder, Denver, and Pueblo.
I remember checking out the action figures from Spider-Man: The Animated Series, rifling through the latest Super Nintendo games, and being in awe at the now-dated Virtual Boy gaming system.
Unfortunately for children everywhere, Toys ‘R’ Us declared bankruptcy in 2017 and closed every remaining brick-and-mortar location in Colorado, and the state remained without a Toys ‘R’ Us store until this past weekend, when the brand made a comeback with a new location.
