On International Walk & Roll to School Day on Oct. 8, Edison Elementary parents Matthew Elliott and Ryan Frazer, along with others, started a bike bus for kids at the neighborhood elementary school located in the West Highland neighborhood.
Elliott had been biking his kids to school and noticed more people getting their kids to school that way. He started conversations at the playground on back-to-school night and found other parents like Frazer who were interested in participating in starting up a bike bus for their elementary school.
Frazer said that he had been thinking about doing a bike bus at Edison, and that Elliott starting the conversation was the catalyst that got it going. Bike buses are group bike rides designed for students to have a safe and fun way to bike to school together with the help of adults…
