Authorities reopen I-25 N in northern Denver metro area after crash

A crash on I-25 prompted authorities in the northern Denver metro area to close the northbound lanes of the interstate for approximately four hours on Sunday.

The Northglenn Police Department said the crash happened near 120th Avenue around 6:30 a.m. and involved a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. They said that people from both vehicles have been taken to area hospitals for treatment, but did not have a precise number available. All of the injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.

Authorities warned drivers to expect an extended closure of I-25N while cleanup efforts continued. NPD explained that multiple tow trucks were needed to wrestle the semi away from a CDOT electronic sign and that packages were strewn across the roadway in the crash.
