Windblown Husky puppy rescued from I-70 in Idaho Springs

A team of highway workers with the Colorado Department of Transportation are being hailed as heroes by the Idaho Springs Police Department after noticing a young Husky puppy wandering near I-70 near mile marker 241 in town.

According to Idaho Springs Police Chief Nate Buseck, who recorded the rescue on his patrol dash-cam, the Husky got loose from his yard in Idaho Springs when high winds Dec. 10 damaged a wooden fence and let it loose.

The CDOT crew was traveling west on I-70 when they reportedly saw the Husky and took action, using their vehicles to temporarily close westbound traffic…
