Hospital staff grant dream wedding for couple amid bride’s rare cancer diagnosis

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Staff members at an Englewood hospital organized a free wedding ceremony for a couple whose 11-year relationship was suddenly cut short when the bride received a devastating cancer diagnosis.

Aliana and Bailey Gleason were married at HCA HealthOne Swedish after medical staff learned of their engagement, which occurred just two days before the ceremony. Aliana is being treated for a rare sarcoma that has spread to her spine, with limited treatment options available, according to Matt Turrie, a nurse manager in the hospital’s oncology department.
