A man is facing charges including vehicular homicide after being taken into custody on Saturday morning when a woman was found dead in his car after a crash on Interstate 270.
According to Commerce City Police Department, a Colorado State Patrol trooper had stopped a vehicle for speeding at 74th and Colorado Blvd. The trooper found a female passenger in the car with severe injuries. Medical personnel were sadly unable to save her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers discovered that the driver and passenger had been involved in an earlier crash in the 7200 block of I-270 in which he had struck a parked RV. The driver had fled the scene and went home to switch vehicles. He said he was taking the woman to the hospital when he was pulled over for speeding…
