Man arrested after officer bitten, 2 dragged from vehicle

DENVER (KDVR) — A 27-year-old man was arrested earlier this month for allegedly dragging a pair of Thornton police officers with his vehicle at a gas station.

The man, identified as Wesley Norton, is accused of dragging the officers after he was asked to exit his vehicle while parked at a gas station near West 88th Avenue and Huron Street, just after 2 a.m. on Feb. 3.

The Thornton Police Department said officers initially approached the vehicle because it did not have license plates, and that Norton was asked to exit the vehicle after allegedly providing false identification.

Instead of exiting the vehicle, TPD said Norton started the car and ignored officers’ commands to stop, before dragging two officers “several yards,” as he drove away…
