Devon Barclay, 19, is studying to be a labor and delivery nurse at the University of Wyoming. Devon and brother, Brady (17), have both lived in the Turquoise Terrace neighborhood their entire lives.
Devon grew up swimming, joining the Castle Pines Storm team when she was 6 years old, and staying with the team until she was 14, while attending American Academy and Rocky Heights Middle School. She was on Rock Canyon High School’s varsity swim and dive team for all four years. One team was not enough for the lifelong swimmer though, and Devon stayed with the Highlands Ranch Aquatics team from ages 7 to 17.
“Anything that had to do with water I absolutely loved,” stated Devon. “Chatfield Reservoir was one of my favorite places to swim, boat, raft and paddle board.” Devon shared that her favorite memories of growing up in Castle Pines are the friends and the summers on the Storm swim team…
