Restaurant owner rescues child during recent Evergreen shooting

EVERGREEN, Colo. (KDVR) — On Sunday morning, sushi was being prepared, even though the restaurant has not fully reopened. There is a sign on the door letting customers know that Sushi Win Jr. is only serving “takeout” for now.

The restaurant is slowly reopening after an active shooter fired shots down a corridor inside a medical clinic in mid-February.

“That day I was setting up the table for a birthday reservation, and that is when the incident happened. A loud bang. Another loud bang, and I went to investigate what happened, and I found a spent shotgun shell on the ground, and that’s when I knew there was an active shooter at this building,” Sushi Win Jr. owner Ryan Win said.

Win quickly hid customers and family in the back of the restaurant…
