The Rock Canyon High School (RCHS) family came together for this year’s Wish Week to grant 6-year-old Dre’s special wish. Dre loves trains, dinosaurs, trains, Spiderman and trains! Dre has a brain tumor.
The week kicked off with Dre visiting Longmont Public Library, where he explored the model train display and colored a train on a whiteboard alongside RCHS student council members. “It was really personal to him,” said Senior Class Vice President Grace Gibbs. Dre and the students then enjoyed games, races and tag outside the library before recording a short video that played at the Wish Week Opening Assembly.
Throughout the week, students participated in spirited events, including a Walk for Wishes, a pickleball tournament, blacklight dodgeball, an auction, a Minecraft “Bedwars” tournament, movie night, and “Dare to Share Your Hair,” where students could get a haircut to support Dre’s wish…
