Cops Collar Denver Man After Warner Place Stabbing Rocks Globeville

Police say a Globeville block turned into a crime scene Thursday when officers responded to a reported stabbing on the 200 block of W. Warner Place and later arrested a Denver man in connection with the attack.

Officers took 47-year-old Rene Valencia, born July 2, 1977, into custody. He is being held for investigation of aggravated assault. One victim was found at the scene and transported to a hospital, but authorities have not publicly detailed the extent of that person’s injuries. Detectives are still working the case.

According to the Denver Police Department, Valencia “is being held for investigation of aggravated assault,” and officers “located one victim” at the Warner Place scene. The post, published Thursday afternoon, also notes that “the investigation is ongoing” as detectives follow up on leads. We have requested additional information from the department and will update this story if officials release more details.

Police Updates and Local Pattern
