Family launches fundraiser for woman killed in Hawthorne crash

HAWTHORNE – A fundraising effort on behalf of a 42-year-old woman who was killed and her teen daughter who was severely injured in a multi- vehicle crash involving an SUV that ran a red light in Hawthorne had raised more than $20,000.

The collision was reported at 11:48 a.m. May 17 at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Inglewood Avenue, according to the Hawthorne Police Department.

The woman who died was April Clements, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office. Her place of residence was not immediately available
