A 19-year-old woman has been charged for allegedly assaulting a 60-year-old street vendor in Downtown Los Angeles over a dispute regarding a hot dog purchase on June 15.
Harmunie Heaven Church, of Los Angeles, is charged with one felony count each of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, aggravated battery and vandalism. According to the charges, Church allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair, threw her to the ground and punched her in the head repeatedly. Church pleaded not guilty during her arraignment on June 29, and her bail was set at $105,000. Her preliminary hearing is at Department 41 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by the vendor’s son, Constantino Garcia, which identifies the street vendor as Arabelia Martinez.
